Hi. I’m samati and I run Sherlock-Art. Really, I just reblog amazing art done by amazing artists here on Tumblr. I try to let the art speak for itself. Someone asked me today if I got permission reblog these pictures. I guess I should explain what my criteria are for posting:
I only post drawn art (whether by hand or digitally), not graphics or manips.
I do not post from outside sources (like Deviant Art) unless it’s submitted or I gain permission directly from the artist.
I reblog directly from the artist (and if you see that I reblog stolen or reposted art PLEASE let me know and I will take it down or reblog it correctly!)
I tag as such: #Sherlock #artist #charactersfeatured and I remove any other tags. If you are an artist search by your Tumblr name and you can see if I’ve posted any of your art.
I don’t ask permission, as I assume that the artist posted the work to Tumblr expecting it to be shared and reblogged, unless they say “Please do not reblog!” but I have yet to see that. Again, if you don’t want it posted here let me know. I’m just trying to share the wonderful Sherlock art with a wider audience. :)
So, why did I not post X’s art? Probably because I didn’t see it or by the time I did it had 4,000 notes and I figure it’s already made the rounds. Also, because I have a full time job and can only blog a couple hours a day. I have more of the prolific artists on my dash, and search the #Sherlock tag when I am able.
THAT BEING SAID: If anyone wants to help me post art, I would love some help. I’m Eastern time zone and at work all day, and it would be nice/fun to have someone fill the gaps. There’s TONS of amazing art posted that I’m not around to see. All you would have to do it post along the guidelines of what I said above (and hey - if you have time to get permission of a Deviantartist be my guest!) and off you go.
